Eh

The game was okay, but it got really stupid when I hit all the guys, and no females, and end up with a score or 15/25. Whats the point of playing if theres no posibility to win? THe code needs ot be fixed when im getting 5-10 females in a row.

Alillm responds:

Ok, now im confused....what females..what males? 15/25? Are you sure your reviewing the right game? You can win, you have to be very good though.

Good, needs some tweaks.

Some ideas:

Make the paddle use arrow keys, and not follow the mouse. (Or give the option to switch between mouse/keys) It's annoying when you try to upgrade and the ball hits you back 125 bucks.

Make the red circle accurately show where you need to click. If an enemy isn't on the + in the center, it doesn't work. Very confusing.

Fix the ball algorithm to use SIN and COS function's so the speed is accurate. When the ball moves diagonal it goes a LOT faster then it does if it goes straight up and down.
[something like x=currentX+cos(angle) y=currentY+sin(angle)]

You could also add in a speed factor, where the more times you hit it in a row the faster it goes. Everytime it hits the castle is slows down?

There was an error where in once game the ball dissapeared in the bottom left corner, but it only happened to me once.

Overall, good work. Keep it up!

1) I might do that.
2) The mouse was a crosshair. Its pretty obvious where the enemy has to be.
3) The vertical speed is always the same. I think its better that way.
4) I might do that too
5) I must have played the game a thousand times while I was making it. That hasn't happend to me yet.

Thanks for the suggestions. I might add some of them to it.

Eh...

It would be fun if the ship's were worth building up for. I'm at the $100,000 ship and the $5,000 one is way better...

I was having fun, but it's getting really boring and stupid. I have to spend soo much time to try and get a better ship just to find out the ship I had at the begining was better...

vex-xiang responds:

You're the first person I've heard who prefers the Valiant over the Akira. The Akira seems to be the favorite ship. The Valient is faster but it has really low energy and no torpedoes, compared to the Akira with tons of energy and rapid-fire torps.

hMM

Well it does seem like a nice strategy game, but it needs a lot of work. The ships I build always fly away, the keys are awkward and confusing, and there was no instructions telling me how to harvest resources. The upgrade from the station never worked, and the station is to weak. If you dont sit by it every second, its gone. Good idea, keep working on it...

vex-xiang responds:

Restrictions for upgrading the station is explained in the instructions. The lack of explanation of how to harvest resources is an oversight on my part. I am incorporating all of these new suggestions into the next game. Thank you all for the constructive criticism.

Tight ass game

Only a few complaints. Sometimes the talking gets annoing, like when he says "Thats boocoo bucks to many" The only other complaint is the password crap. GAHH!! I think you should try to find a better easier system for saved games. other then that IT KICKED ASSS!!!!

BenSpurgin responds:

Thanks! Actually, we've figured out a better save game system and we'll be implementing it in PQ2. No more passwords!!
